Vikings cut down their pre-season roster ahead of Tuesday's deadline

The team cut 14 players Monday to pare down the roster for the regular season.

EAGAN, Minn — With the season opener just under two weeks away and the final roster cut deadline one day away, the Minnesota Vikings sent out several pink slips on Monday.

The team officially waived 13 players and terminated one contract to pare the roster down for the regular season.

NFL teams need to reduce their rosters to 53 players by 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The Vikings announced these roster moves on Monday:

Waived

  • DeWayne McBride  (RB)
  • Sammis Reyes (TE)
  • Mohamed Ibrahim (RB)
  • Jaylin Williams (CB)
  • Neal Johnson (TE)
  • Justin Hall (WR)
  • Owen Porter (OLB)
  • Chuck Filiaga (OL)
  • Doug Nester (OL)
  • Matt Cindric (OL)
  • Spencer Rolland (OL)
  • Tyler Manoa (DL) 

Contract terminated

  • A.J. Green III  (CB)

The Vikings host the New York Giants in their season opener Sunday, Sept. 8.
