EAGAN, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings receiver Jordan Addison has been charged and could be suspended up to three games following his arrest last month in California on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The arrest occurred around 11:30 p.m. July 12 after the California Highway Patrol said they found Addison asleep behind the wheel on an interstate near Los Angeles International Airport. According to court documents, Addison is charged with two misdemeanors — driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08%. His arraignment and plea hearing are set for Oct. 7 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Addison could be suspended for three games for his first criminal offense involving alcohol abuse, per NFL policy. Last month, the second-year receiver expressed remorse, saying that he was in a "dark place" and would accept any disciplinary action that the team or league handed down.

"Whatever's out there for me, I'm going to stand on all 10, take whatever comes with it," Addison said. "I'll own up to everything, and I feel like anything that come my way is meant to happen or is deserved, so I'll do what I've got to do."

Addison pleaded guilty last summer after he was cited for driving 140 mph in a 55 zone on I-94 through St. Paul. Alcohol was not a factor, but he was ordered to pay a fine of $686 and had his driver's license revoked for six months.
