EAGAN, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs has taken the league by storm.
The league's "passtronaut," given to him because of his aerospace engineering degree from the University of Tennessee, was thrust into a nearly impossible situation — playing just five days after being traded — and has run with it... literally.
In two games with the Vikings, Dobbs has completed 43 of 64 passes (67.2%) 426 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He's also rushed for 110 yards and a pair of TDS, but most importantly, he's 2-0 since stepping under center.
His impact also prompted the NFL to change its cover photo on X, formerly known as Twitter, from Taylor Swift to the Vikings' new signal caller.
But Dobbs isn't only making plays on the field.
The 28-year-old has alopecia and has been very open about his journey, helping raise awareness of the condition that impacts about 6.7 million people in the United States. One of those people is Gregory. Dobbs surprised Gregory with a signed signed jersey, and the boy's reaction went viral.
Gregory made a sign that read, "Thank you Josh Dobbs and the Minnesota Vikings" as well as a photo of him wearing the jersey. Dobbs and the Vikings play the Denver Broncos Sunday night on KARE 11, where there will certainly be at least of fan rooting for No. 15 to keep rolling.
