INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Minnesota Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw left Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Rams late in the second quarter with a knee injury and never returned, causing concern for Minnesota's moving company going forward.
The fourth-year tackle out of Virginia Tech was injured while blocking on a run play deep in Vikings' territory with just 21 seconds remaining in the second quarter. He was helped off the field after Rams safety Jaylen McCollough rolled into Darrisaw while trying to make a tackle on the play.
The team later ruled him out for the remainder of the game, replacing him with backup tackle David Quessenberry. Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell didn't have an update following the game, but said he was being evaluated.
"Keeping our fingers crossed that we get some positive news," O'Connell said following the Vikings' 30-20 loss.
Darrisaw is one of the top left tackles in the league and is tasked with blocking Darnold's blindside, so if he's unavailable for a long stretch, it could have major implications on the season.
