MINNEAPOLIS — For the first time, Vikings safety Cam Bynum got to play in front of his wife.
Bynum's wife, Lalaine, had been unable to obtain a visa needed for her to come from the Philippines to the U.S.
The couple's dilemma made headlines across social media and reached the offices of the NFL and local politicians.
The publicity helped because Lalaine was finally reunited with Cam last week.
On Sunday, Lalaine got to cheer for Cam and the Vikings as they beat the New Orleans Saints at U.S. Bank Stadium Vikings.
After the game, Cam gave Lalaine his game jersey.
"It probably stunk. But she was emotional. And really to have a few other people come from the Philippines and fly out to this game. Our pastor from church - shout out Steven - and all my family from here and all my family back in California flew out. So we had a lot of people here to experience her first game. It was her day... not even mine," said Bynum after the game in the locker room.
Bynum also added how grateful he was that Lalaine was in Minnesota.
"We're in the apartment and she is tossing me balls... letting me work on my hands and helping me with all my workouts. It's just a blessing having her here."
