Minnesota Wild fire long-time staff member

Hendrickson's position with the Wild had survived several head coaching swaps as he had been a member of the staff since 2009.

ST PAUL, Minn — The Minnesota Wild have parted ways with former player-turned-assistant-coach Darby Hendrickson.

“He has done a tremendous amount of good things for our team and the State of Hockey as a player and a coach. I wish Darby and his family all the best in the future,” said Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin, in a statement.

Hendrickson's position with the Wild had survived several head coaching swaps as he had been a member of the staff since 2009.

Prior to coaching for the Wild, Hendrickson suited up for the squad over the franchise's first four years.

It's been a tumultuous year for the Wild as they fired former coach Dean Evanson mid-season, hired John Hine and missed the playoffs entirely.
