PARIS, France — As the 2024 Paris Olympics wind down, a handful of local athletes are still vying for gold, including Edina native Jordan Thompson and Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.
Edwards and the U.S. men's basketball team have reached the semifinals, where they'll go up against the NBA MVP. Thompson and Team USA volleyball are also in the semis, going up against a team they're quite familiar with from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

9 a.m. CT – Women's volleyball | Semifinal: U.S. vs. Brazil (NBC)
Edina native Jordan Thompson and Team USA meet up with powerhouse Brazil after defeating Poland in the semifinals. In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the U.S. defeated Brazil in the finals to capture their first-ever gold in the event.

Anthony Edwards
1:45 p.m. CT – Men's basketball | Semifinal: U.S. vs. Serbia (USA)
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edward and Team USA have been unstoppable in the Olympics, and they'll look to continue their dominance in the semifinals. Ant and the Americans will tip-off against NBA MVP Nikola Jokić and Team Serbia.
Edwards is leading the Americans in scoring (16.8 points per game) despite coming off the bench.
