Suni Lee bags bronze; teammate Simone Biles gathers gold, her sixth all-time

St. Paul's Suni Lee entered the all-around as the reigning champion.

PARIS, France — St. Paul just got a lot shinier, thanks to Team USA gymnast Suni Lee, who won a bronze medal in the women's gymnastics all-around competition Thursday in Paris.

Twenty-one-year-old Lee, Tokyo 2020's all-around Olympic champion, finished one place behind Brazil's Rebeca Andrade, and two spots behind her teammate Simone Biles, who walked away with gold — her sixth all-time in the Olympic Games.

Now with nine Olympic medals overall, Biles is the most decorated American Olympic gymnast of all time.

The women also won a gold medal with their teammates, Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles, in the team finals on Tuesday.

Lee's 2024 performance was marked by her skills in her signature event — uneven bars.

Nearing the end of the first week of competition at the Paris Games, Suni still has several chances to add to her growing medal collection. She'll be back on the Olympic floor Saturday through Monday, competing individually on the uneven bars and balance beam.

The men's all-around competition took place Wednesday, with Shinnosuke Oka of Japan ending atop the podium.
