ST. PAUL, Minn. - With little moisture predicted overnight into Wednesday and dry, windy and warm conditions today, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued red flag warnings for north-central Minnesota indicating high fire danger.

A red flag warning means that fires could start quickly and grow large among dry grass and dead vegetation, which then can torch and spread into the tree’s crown.

Conditions have been dry for much of spring, despite significant rain in recent days.
