LUCK, Wis. — Authorities in western Wisconsin have identified a fisherman who drowned over the weekend after falling out of his boat in Polk County.
Sheriff Brent Waak says deputies were dispatched to Sandhill Lake shortly before 5 p.m. Friday on reports of a possible drowning. When they arrived deputies located 70-year-old Larry Richolz of Frederic, Wis. in the water and pulled his body to shore. Despite lifesaving efforts first responders were not able to revive Richolz.
The preliminary investigation suggests Richolz fell out of his boat and was submerged for several minutes before rescuers were able to pull him from Sandhill Lake.
