ST. PAUL, Minn. - Scarves Up, Minnesota!

Allianz Field, the future home of Minnesota United FC, is now 75 percent complete. Loon leadership made the announcement on Tuesday during a tour of the impressive, state-of-the-art facility nestled along Interstate 94.

"I think this stadium will stand on its own as, to me, the finest soccer-specific stadium in North America and will hold up to stadia around the world, said Dr. Bill McGuire, MNUFC Managing Partner. "It won't be as big as some, but I think it will be architecturally and aesthetically as fine as any stadium in the world and will have some features that are unique to it that others don't have."

Such as the Polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE wrap around the stadium lit with LED lighting. That work is nearly complete. There's also a rainwater reuse system. That work is well underway.

Seat installation is about 60 percent complete. Allianz Field will officially seat 19,400 but can hold up to 20,000.

Natural turf (grass shipped in from Colorado) will be installed on October. And yes, it will be heated.

The bathrooms, concession stands and other interior features are beginning to come together. It's all set for a substantial completion date of Feb. 22, 2019, according to Mortenson Construction.
