ST. PAUL, Minn. - Scarves Up, Minnesota!
Allianz Field, the future home of Minnesota United FC, is now 75 percent complete. Loon leadership made the announcement on Tuesday during a tour of the impressive, state-of-the-art facility nestled along Interstate 94.
"I think this stadium will stand on its own as, to me, the finest soccer-specific stadium in North America and will hold up to stadia around the world, said Dr. Bill McGuire, MNUFC Managing Partner. "It won't be as big as some, but I think it will be architecturally and aesthetically as fine as any stadium in the world and will have some features that are unique to it that others don't have."
Allianz Field set for Feb. 2019 opening
Such as the Polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE wrap around the stadium lit with LED lighting. That work is nearly complete. There's also a rainwater reuse system. That work is well underway.
