South St. Paul turning around boys basketball program in big way

In the last decade in conference, the Packers were a combined 6-138. This season South St. Paul believes they can win and they're doing just that.

SOUTH ST PAUL, Minn. —

Even in Minnesota, you have to root for these Packers.

Over the last decade in conference, South St. Paul has six winless seasons and a combined record of 6-138. This year they are 11-5 overall and 4-2 in conference.

Under new head coach Matt McCollister the players are buying into the up-tempo system and having unprecedented success.

The Packers might be known as a hockey or football school, but this team is changing the culture one victory at a time.
