ST PAUL, Minn. —
The Tommies' season abruptly ended. Their final game was a victory - just not in the National Championship game.
Due to concerns of the coronavirus, the NCAA canceled all the games across all the division. That included the sweet sixteen matchup that was scheduled between rivals St. Thomas and St. Johns.
"We went from a sell-out to family only to no game at all," Tommies head coach Johnny Tauer said. "It was an emotional room."
For seniors like Tommy Anderson, this news also ended their careers in a Tommies uniform.
"It's still sinking in," he said. "I definitely never thought my career would end like this."
As much as they wanted to play the Tommies know it was the right call.
