MINNEAPOLIS - The woman who, for all intents and purposes, runs the Minnesota Lynx will now have a title to match.
The team announced Thursday that head coach Cheryl Reeve had signed a multi-year contract extension and also accepted the role of general manager.
Reeve was quoted in a press release saying, "I appreciate Glen Taylor's confidence in me to continue to lead the Lynx organization. I'm thrilled with the strong and passionate staff we've assembled and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.”
Reeve, who wrapped up her eighth season as head coach, becomes the sixth person to have both head coach and general manager duties in the WNBA.
