Lynx sign Sylvia Fowles to multi-year extension

Fowles is averaging 13.7 points in her 12th WNBA season.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Lynx announced in a press release Sunday that the team has signed center Sylvia Fowles to a new multi-year contract extension. 

Terms of the deal were not made public.

Fowles is currently playing in her 12th WNBA season, and leads the league in field goal accuracy (59.1%). She's currently averaging 13.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game for the Lynx.

The 6-foot-6 center was named to her sixth WNBA All-Star game this season.

Fowles is a native of Miami, Florida. She was acquired from Chicago in 2015, helping lead Minnesota to WNBA titles in 2015 and 2017, and was named Finals MVP in both years. Fowles was also named WNBA MVP in 2017.
