RUSH CITY, Minn. — I have always wanted to photograph a sunflower farm. If you've seen my explorations with my camera, you know that I love photographing flowers and so I've been trying to find a sunflower farm nearby, and recently, I found a beauty.
I drove up to Treasured Haven Farm near Rush City. It's about an hour or so away from Minneapolis, so not a bad drive. I recently went up there one weekend to check it out and the weather was gorgeous. It was in the 70's and sunny, with blue sky and a few clouds. The sunflowers were beautiful and buzzing with bees landing on them, but not too many.
Treasured Haven Farm is a family farm and every year their sunflower fields show off in brilliant color.
You can walk through the rows of sunflowers, and they even have a few hay bales you can stand on for selfies and overhead shots of the flowers.
That's So Minnesota: Sunflower Farm
If you're on your way to/from the cabin, it's a quick stop off I-35 and I think it's worth your time.
Make sure you check out their Facebook page for updates on time, location and how long the fields will last this year.
While you're reading this, find me on social media or send me an email, and tell me where to visit next. I'm always looking for a great spot to photograph.
