1 dead, 2 injured after serious crash in Ramsey

A passenger in a Jeep Grand Cherokee did not survive the collision at a busy intersection, while the two drivers are being treated at local hospitals.

RAMSEY, Minn. — A woman is dead and two others injured following a crash Tuesday night on a busy road in Ramsey.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says the collision happened at the intersection of Bunker Lake Blvd. and Sunfish Lake Rd. just before 8 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to the scene, along with Ramsey police and paramedics after reports of a crash with injuries. 

Arriving first responders found that a westbound Toyota Camry had collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee headed south. An adult female passenger in the Jeep was taken to a local hospital and pronounced deceased, while woman driving the Cherokee suffered injuries described as non-life threatening. 

The man driving the Camry is hospitalized with critical injuries. 

At this point the circumstances of what caused the crash and which driver was responsible is still under investigation.
