MINNEAPOLIS — A man is dead after the car he was driving struck a guardrail on I-94 in Minneapolis and then careened into a median in Minneapolis Sunday evening.
The State Patrol website says the driver, a 53-year-old Brooklyn Park man, was traveling in the northbound lanes of the interstate just after 8 p.m. at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the 2016, made contact with the guardrail and then hit the median head-on near 49th Ave.
More information on the crash will be released Monday afternoon. At this point, it is not clear whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the incident.
