SAINT PAUL, Minn — At least one person is dead after a crash on Highway 61 on St. Paul's southeast side Friday morning.
The State Patrol reported the incident on its Twitter page, saying it happened in the northbound lanes of 61 at Lower Afton Road near the border of South St. Paul. Twin Cities Traffic says it happened shortly after 5:15 a.m.
Northbound Highway 61 will be closed in that area for an extended period of time for crash cleanup and reconstruction. At t his point there is no word on how many fatalities, or the number of vehicles involved.
