Head-on collision claims the life of a woman and injures a man in Ham Lake

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said the Tuesday night crash between a truck and SUV happened near Crosstown Boulevard NE and Bataan Street NE.

HAM LAKE, Minn. — According to police, a woman was killed and a man was injured Tuesday night in Ham Lake when a pickup and SUV collided in a head-on crash. 

In a press release, the Anoka County Sheriff's Department said they were called to a crash just after 8 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Crosstown Boulevard NE and Bataan Street NE in Ham Lake. 

Police believe a pickup truck driven by a man was heading west on Crosstown when it crashed head-on with an SUV heading east. 

The woman who had been driving the SUV was declared dead at the scene of the crash. Police say the man only had minor injuries. 

The names of the people involved have not been released at this time. 

Minnesota State Patrol, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating.
