ST PAUL, Minn. — A shutdown of one of the Twin Cities metro's busier transportation arteries could make things a bit challenging for motorists this weekend.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says Highway 100 will be closed in both directions starting at 10 p.m. Friday, and ending at 5 a.m. Monday. The closure is for work on the Southwest Light Rail project.
The suggested detour is Highway 169 north to I-394 east.
On Oct. 20 and 21 Interstate 94 will be closed in both directions in downtown Minneapolis to wash the Lowry tunnel and perform needed electrical repairs. That work will be done during the overnight hours.
