Highway 169 closures near Plymouth begin Sunday

NEW HOPE, Minn. — City officials are warning drivers about two upcoming closures on Highway 169 near Plymouth as part of the Minnesota Department of Transportation's bridge replacement project at County Road 9.

Southbound 169 will be closed between Interstate 94/Interstate 694 and 36th Avenue starting 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22 until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23. The same stretch will again be closed 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Northbound 169 will be shut down between 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, and then again from 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26.

The project consists of making the bridge wider, while also rebuilding the interchange from a full cloverleaf to a folded diamond layout. There will also be new pedestrian and bike trails on both side of County Road 9.
