PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Starting Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6 a.m., commuters will have to find another route if they use Highway 55 through Golden Valley.
The road will close until Oct. 14 at 6 a.m. between Highway 169 in Plymouth and U.S. 100 in Golden Valley. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says the closure is to allow the construction of a pedestrian underpass at Douglas Drive and perform other needed improvements.
A roundabout will also be constructed on the frontage road just south of the busy intersection to improve traffic flow leading to Highway 55.
The best way to get around the closure to take Interstate 394 to bridge the gap between the two heavily used roads.
For more information on the project check out the city of Golden Valley website.
