GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Lanes of Highway 8 will be narrowed in both directions in Chisago County starting Monday.
Crews will be resurfacing the highway in both directions, from Franconia through Taylors Falls and the Wisconsin border.
The project is expected to last through late May and will impact several communities.
Detour signs are posted and motorists are advised to follow the posted detour through Osceola using Highway 95, Highway 243 and Wisconsin Highway 35.
Local residents and Wildwood campground visitors can access the area from the west end of the Highway 8 closure. Access to Interstate Park will be provided from the east end of the Highway 8 closure.
Drivers should expect that route to add an extra 30 minutes to their commute.
