I-35 southbound reopens after big crash in Faribault

A driver was airlifted from the scene.

FARIBAULT, Minn. — Interstate 35 southbound reopened Wednesday evening after a crash closed southbound traffic earlier in the day near Faribault.

The Minnesota State Patrol said a large crash, which occurred in a construction zone between Millersburg Boulevard and MN 21, involved two semis just before noon. One of the drivers was airlifted from the scene with unknown injuries, according to MSP.

MnDOT traffic cameras show several emergency vehicles and smoke billowing from a vehicle or vehicles.
