MINNEAPOLIS — A heads up for drivers in the Twin Cities: One of the busiest routes into and out of Minneapolis will be closing for the weekend.
MnDOT will shut down traffic on I-94 between I-694 and I-394 starting at 10 p.m. Friday night, and continuing through 5 a.m. on Monday morning. Construction crews will be working on the Plymouth Avenue bridge, which requires closing the entire freeway.
The Plymouth Avenue bridge itself will remain closed through fall as crews work to replace the driving surface on the bridge and improve the intersection at Plymouth Avenue and Third Street.
The Minnesota Twins, who are hosting the Cleveland Guardians at Target Field in a weekend series, have warned fans to plan ahead or consider public transportation to get to the stadium.
