ST PAUL, Minn. — Being stuck in a traffic jam is never good, but with temps this weekend headed for the mid-90s, crawling along in bumper-to-bumper conditions could be detrimental to your car... and you.
That being said, there are at least four major projects that will trigger closures of heavily-used roads across the metro between Friday night and Monday morning. KARE 11's Alicia Lewis lays out the spots you should avoid like the plague.
- I-94 closed in both directions in the north metro between Highways 252 and 169. There are multiple posted detours.
- I-35W northbound lanes closed between the 35W split in Burnsville and I-494 in Richfield. Detour is northbound I-35E to Highway 77 and I-494.
- Highway 62 (Crosstown) westbound between Sibley Memorial Highway and MN Highway 5. Detour is southbound I-35E to westbound I-494 to northbound Highway 5.
- Highway 52 all southbound lanes between I-94 and I-494. Detour is eastbound I-94 to southbound Highway 61 to westbound I-494.
All projects will begin at 10 p.m. Friday with some ramp closures beginning earlier. Work is scheduled to wrap up by 5 a.m. Monday, in time for the morning rush.
