BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — Another Minnesota summer weekend means more significant roadwork that will impact the plans and lives of thousands running errands, heading to grad parties or just out driving around.
- The most significant involves the closure of I-94 in both directions between Highway 169 in Brooklyn Park and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center. Work begins at 10 p.m. Friday and winds up at 5 a.m. Monday.
- After working on the southbound lanes last weekend, crews will work on the northbound lanes of Highway 52 between I-494 in Inver Grove Heights and I-94 in St. Paul. The closure is expected to last from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, reopening in time for rush hour.
- A high volume stretch of I-94 westbound will close for a relatively short period of time between 4 a.m. and noon on Sunday. The impacted area is between Highway 280 in St. Paul and Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis.
- Highway 212 will close in both directions between Edina and Eden Prairie over a staggered time period. The eastbound lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday through 10 p.m. Tuesday, and westbound 212 will close from 3 p.m. Saturday through 10 p.m. Tuesday.
