EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Motorists in the southwest metro may have been surprised Friday morning to encounter detour signs as they tried to navigate their normal commute on the Crosstown.
The stretch of Highway 62 between Shady Oak Road and Hwy 212 is closed in both directions all weekend to allow construction related to the Southwest LRT Project. Crews will be working on tunnel construction under the roadway.
Lane restrictions began Thursday night, with a full closure of Highway 62 running through Monday morning, Dec. 14 at 6 a.m. The Metropolitan Council warns residents in the area construction will go around the clock, bringing additional construction lights and noise during evening hours.
Motorists are advised to use I-494 for your detour.
