MINNEAPOLIS — Construction season in Minnesota is still in full swing and there are four major projects this weekend, including a portion of I-35W near Minneapolis, that are next up on MnDOT's "to-do" list.
I-35W | Friday 10 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m.
Starting Friday, June 3, I-35W will be closed in both directions near downtown Minneapolis as Department of Transportation crews work on the Hiawatha Avenue-Highway 55 project.
Crews are removing the 7th and 8th Street bridge decks over I-35W.
All entrance ramps to southbound Hiawatha Avenue between I-94 and Highway 280 will be closed, and the ramp from I-94 westbound to downtown Minneapolis will be shut down Sunday.
To get around this big project, drivers can detour using I-94 and Highway 280.
After this weekend's closure, the 7th Street bridge will remain closed through September, according to MnDOT.
