MSP named top airport in nation

The survey was part of Travel + Leisure's annual "World's Best Awards" list, which polled people on access, check-in/security, restaurants/bars, shopping and design.

MINNEAPOLIS — Months after being named North America's top airport, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) soared in at No. 1 of another list.

MSP was named the top domestic airport, according to a survey conducted by Travel + Leisure. The survey was part of Travel + Leisure's annual "World's Best Awards" list, which polled people on access, check-in/security, restaurants/bars, shopping and design.

"(MSP) is, by far, my favorite airport in the country," wrote one voter. "It’s easy to figure out, easy to get around, and there are a lot of interesting shops and decent restaurants."

MSP received a reader score of 82.32, which narrowly edged out Rhode Island T.G. Green International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport, which was named second and third, respectively. Two other airports in the Midwest landed on the top 10 list with Indianapolis International Airport at No. 5 and Kansas City International Airport No. 6.

“The best accolades are those that come directly from customers and travelers, so it’s an honor for MSP to be recognized by Travel + Leisure readers for industry excellence,” said Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), which owns and operates MSP. “Our many partners across the airport community are focused on delivering best-in-class service, creating accessible facilities, offering a refreshing mix of shops and restaurants, and — most of all — providing exceptional airport experiences for our travelers.”

MSP, which serves as a hub for both Delta and Sun Country, served nearly 35 million travelers in 2023, according to the MAC.
