MORA, Minn. — Driving up north along Highway 65 was a different story. Roads weren't too bad compared to what people in the southwest corner of the state dealt with.
In Mora, Minnesotans spent their Saturday digging out.
The timing of this winter storm couldn't have been better according to Mora resident Quint Askildson.
“We've had a little snow as you can see about 8-10 inches and I’ve been snow blowing for the last two hours,” said Quint who is learning firsthand what Minnesota winters are all about having just moved north from Iowa.
“While I’m going to go out and help some neighbors blow out today as long as my snowblower is working I noticed I’m having some mechanical problems as well because of the heavy snow,” said Quint.
Quint wasn't the only one running into a few problems with his snowblower. Just down the road neighbor Mark Hron’s snowblower called it quits.
“I’m not quite sure… my neighbor says it’s something to do with the drive belt. Of course when you need it the most there it goes, but he’s going to let me use his snowblower and neighbors helping neighbors so we'll get it taken care of,” Mark said.
