GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Falling rain overnight has mostly changed over to snow across the metro, making the commute wet and for some, a bit slippery.
Snow showers (possibly mixing with a little rain/drizzle) will continue through mid- morning but accumulations will be limited due to the warm, wet roads and lawns. Expect under 1/2" of any accumulation, mostly in patches on your grass or rooftops. Roads will remain largely wet.
The St. Cloud area began seeing a wintry mix as early as 5:00 a.m. this morning.
Here in the Twin Cities, residents of the western suburbs started to see the changeover from rain to snow a bit before 7:00 a.m.
Temps will drop through the day, eventually dipping below freezing by late this afternoon. We'll also see skies clear out by then. Winds will howl through the day from the northwest at 15-25 mph.
Overnight temps will drop into the teens and low 20s, so watch for the possibility of re-freeze on untreated surfaces like driveways and sidewalks.
The good news... is that we expect sunshine for your Friday!
