MINNEAPOLIS — The continuing hot, dry weather across Minnesota is putting the Department of Natural Resources on high alert, as a Red Flag Warning went up for much of the state.
Summer-like conditions including warm temps, gusty winds and low humidity are ideal for fire to start and spread if people don't remain vigilant.
Counties included in the watch are: Aitkin, Anoka, Benton, Carlton, Carver, Cass, Chippewa, Chisago, Crow Wing, Douglas, Hennepin, Isanti, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, McLeod, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Pine, Pope, Ramsey, Renville, Sherburne, St. Louis, Stearns, Stevens, Swift, Todd, Washington, Wright and Yellow Medicine.
No one should burn anything outside while the warning is in place.
The warning is in effect until 7 p.m. on Friday.
