Twins Weather Day returns in 2024: How your school can be part of it

The annual event on May 16 combines fun science lessons with a day at the ballpark.

MINNEAPOLIS — Editor's note: The video above aired on KARE 11 in May 2023.

KARE 11 and the Minnesota Twins are teaming up once again this season for Twins Weather Day at Target Field on Thursday, May 16.

The annual event combines fun weather and science lessons from the KARE 11 Weatherminds team with an afternoon at the ballpark.

Schools across the Upper Midwest are invited to Target Field to learn more about weather and how it relates to baseball in a special pregame presentation from KARE 11 Chief Meteorologist Belinda Jensen and the rest of the KARE 11 weather team. Students, teachers and chaperones can then stick around to watch the Twins take on the New York Yankees at 12:10 p.m.

Game tickets are required. Schools can contact the Twins to make a reservation.
