FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. — Well, Minnesotans. We did it. Again.
According to State Fair officials, the inaugural day of this year's Great Minnesota Get-Together drew in a record crowd, boasting nearly 140,000 people through its gates Thursday.
This year, about 5,500 more visitors mulled about the Fairgrounds than in 2019, when the fair recorded its previous first-day record of 133,326.
Thursday's visitor count also eclipsed last year's first-day attendance count of 106,327.
So, what's bringing people out to the fair this year? We have some ideas.
