ST PAUL, Minn. — Following the success of its inaugural year, organizers of the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival said the fest is officially back on the calendar for next summer.

On Tuesday morning, both the festival and St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter posted the news to their respective X accounts.

Before this year's fest at Harriet Island even started, Carter told KARE 11 he hoped it would return.

"Our hope is that this comes back," Carter said. "Our hope is that people get a chance to just see what St. Paul has to offer."

The two-day event featuring Alanis Morissette, Gwen Stefani and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among other popular artists was expected to draw in tens of thousands of people, and despite the last-minute withdrawal of one headlining act, The Black Crowes, a festival spokesperson said that mission was accomplished.

When all was said and done, more than 34,000 people were reportedly in attendance each day.

"We were very pleased with how the event went and we are working directly with the city in hopes to return next year," the spokesperson told KARE on July 22.

While it's still in the early stages of planning, Yacht Club officials said those interested can keep an eye on the festival's official website for updates.
