Brooklyn Park police are trying to identify who pulled the trigger in a shooting Tuesday that killed one man and injured another.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — A 16-year-old has been arrested after two teens were killed in a shooting in Brooklyn Park on Halloween.

On Sunday, the Brooklyn Park Police Department arrested the teen who is currently being held for second-degree murder. Charges have not yet been filed.

Police say the shooting occurred on the 7200 block of Zane Avenue North at around 5 p.m. on Oct. 31. When officers arrived, they found two teens with gunshot wounds. One teen, later identified as 16-year-old Diriye Abdi Muhumed of Brooklyn Park, died at the scene. The second victim was transported to the hospital where he later died. The second victim was identified as 16-year-old Chardid Hachi Farah of Minneapolis.

Officials say they don't believe the shooting was random. Police are asking residents in the area to search their yards for a possible gun that may have been left by the suspects. If found, authorities ask that the gun not be touched. Instead, the person should contact 911 immediately.
