Uber driver shot after picking up passenger in south Minneapolis

The driver was transported to Hennepin Healthcare with injuries officials believe to be non-life threatening.

MINNEAPOLIS — An Uber driver was shot after picking up a passenger Friday night in south Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, the driver, believed to be in his 20s, picked up a passenger near the 2500 block of Pillsbury Avenue South. Authorities say the gunfire occurred after the passenger entered the vehicle, however, it's unclear where the shots came from. The driver drove to Garfield Avenue and West Lake Street before calling the police. 

The driver was transported to Hennepin Healthcare with injuries officials believe to be non-life threatening. No arrests have been reported.
