MINNEAPOLIS — Three people were struck by a vehicle and sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Friday night, police said.

According to information from officials, officers were called to the area around East Franklin Avenue and Portland Avenue in Minneapolis around 9:40 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found three victims who had been struck.

Police said preliminary information suggests a vehicle headed south on Portland Avenue sideswiped a second vehicle also headed south. That second vehicle apparently struck three people and other parked vehicles as the first vehicle left the scene.

The second vehicle remained on scene, police said.

The three victims, a woman in her 20's, a woman in her 30's and a man in his 30's, were taken in an ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare with life-threatening injuries.

No other information about the victims was released by officials.

As of Saturday afternoon, there were no arrests.
