A man found dead Thursday afternoon along Highway 169 in Shakopee has been identified.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says Ryan Hobot, 22, of Eagan, was the person killed.
The BCA says someone called 911 shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday to report a possible body near Highway 169.
When Shakopee police officers arrived on scene, they located a deceased male.
Police shut down Highway 169 while officials investigated the scene.
The Medical Examiner's Office said Hobot's time of injury was on Wednesday, January 15 and that "the individual died of multiple blunt force injuries from a motor vehicle crash."
A three-car crash occurred near the same location on Wednesday just after 10:30 p.m., but officials have not yet said whether that crash is related to Hobot's death.
Hobot's father Ron said Ryan graduated from both Eagan High School and the School of Environmental Studies.
Ryan's family is especially proud of his service with the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, a program for teens who want to go into the Navy.
The Twin Cities Squadron wrote on Facebook: "It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that former NSCC Twin Cities Squadron Cadet Ryan Wesley Hobot has passed away. We send our thoughts and prayers to Cadet Hobot and his family."
Ron Hobot says Ryan's body was found about 250 yards from where his vehicle was hit. Their family is grief-stricken and in shock.
Ron said, "He was greatest kid in the world."
No further information has been released by authorities.
The State Patrol and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating Hobot's death.
