Victim identified in fatal north Minneapolis shooting

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says 34-year-old Chad James Holin of Minneapolis died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

MINNEAPOLIS — The victim of a fatal weekend shooting in north Minneapolis has been identified.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says 34-year-old Chad James Holin of Minneapolis died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Minneapolis Police say the shooting occurred near Folwell Park In the 3900 block of Humboldt Ave. N. early Saturday morning. 

Police responded to shots fired near the scene of the crime and received several 911 calls while squad cars were en route. 

Police say Holin was found to be suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No one is in custody at this time and an investigation is still underway.
