Pedestrian dies after being struck by minivan in St. Paul

Police say the pedestrian was walking on Van Dyke when he was struck by the van.

ST PAUL, Minn. — The man struck and killed by a minivan while walking in St. Paul last Friday has been identified.  

According to the St. Paul Police Department, the minivan was traveling west on East Mechanic Avenue the night of Feb. 2 when it turned south onto Van Dyke Street and hit a man who was walking on Van Dyke.

The pedestrian, later identified as 33-year-old Kevin Nguyen of St. Paul, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the minivan driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating. The crash is still being investigated.
