RICE COUNTY, Minn. — The Rice County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a vehicle crashed, killing a passenger and sending three other people to the hospital.
Officers and emergency responders were called to the 3000 block of 30th Street West in Webster Township just after 10:00 on Saturday night for a single-vehicle crash, according to a press release.
A passenger, 30-year-old Nathan John Thomas of Dundas, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 33-year-old woman driving the vehicle was critically hurt and airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), officials said. Two children in the vehicle, a 2-month-old boy and a 21-month-old boy, were extricated from the vehicle and also taken to HCMC for urgent medical care.
"Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones affected by this tragic incident," the sheriff's office said.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, and ask anyone with information to contact the Rice County Sheriff.
“The collaborative effort underscores the dedication of our local agencies to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community,” said Rice County Sheriff Jesse Thomas. “We are grateful for the swift response and assistance provided by all involved. Three lives were saved with the efforts of all involved.”
No other information has been released at this time.
