MINNEAPOLIS — A line of powerful storms moved through Minnesota on Wednesday, leaving baseball-sized hail, thunder and lightning, and a deluge of rain in their wake.
KARE 11 Meteorologist John Zeigler said wind shear and higher wind speeds were highest in the western part of the state. Large hail hit those western counties as well, most notably in Stevens County where residents reported 5 or 6-inch chunks of hail.
As for rain totals, Owatonna racked up 3.77 inches at the most, followed by Wells at 3.55 inches and Goodhue at 3.44 inches.
The storms aren't done just yet, with chances of rain and a few thunderstorms on Thursday.
