MINNEAPOLIS — It's that time of year... fresh veggies and homemade pastries beckon from your local farmers market.
But before you go — here's a roundup of Twin Cities area markets, their hours and anything else you need to know.
Minneapolis
The Minneapolis location is the largest, with 135 vendors. The market is changing up its hours this year to operate Wednesday through Sunday instead of seven days a week. The hours are weekdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If you're a Sunday shopper, the market is hosting live entertainment. Throughout the summer, there will be demonstrations by Chef Laura Bonicelli. The first one is June 15 from 9-11 a.m. and includes a lesson on Jamming and Pickling.
The market is located at 312 East Lyndale Ave. N. Free parking lots are available near the market, but if those fill up then you will have to find street parking.
If you want to stretch out with free yoga classes or listen to live music while you shop, try out the Mill City Farmers Market. The market runs Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through September and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in October.
For the free yoga classes, meet on the lawn across West River Parkway near the Guthrie. Classes happen at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturdays.
Mill City hosts about 115 vendors at 704 South 2nd St. Street parking is available on 2nd Street and nearby, but consider walking or using public transit as there are plenty of options.
Saint Paul
The Capital City's farmers market is for weekend shoppers! The hours are Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Head to 290 5th St. E to enjoy the array of flowers, freshly baked treats and healthy veggies! Free parking is available on Prince Street and pedicab rides can take you from the lot to the market, according to the Saint Paul Farmers Market website.
If you want to stick around Saint Paul but don't have time for weekend shopping (and finding parking), there is another option. The House of Hope church hosts Friday markets from 1:15-5 p.m. It is located at 797 Summit Ave.
Roseville
This market is open on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon. It is located at Corpus Christi Church at 2131 Fairview Ave. N.
Burnsville
For a nice Thursday afternoon shopping trip, head to Mary Mother of the Church at 3333 Cliff Road E. The Burnsville market offers cut flowers, fruits, plants and more.
Andover
If you can't find time during the day, head to Andover's Riverdale Church after work to pick up some fresh veggies. The hours are 2-6 p.m. at 3210 Bunker Lake Blvd NW.
Maplewood
The Aldrich Ice Arena hosts farmers markets from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays at 1850 White Bear Ave.
