Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Twin Cities on Thursday

The White House has yet to announce the specific details of the visit.

MINNEAPOLIS — Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit the Twin Cities on Thursday for the sixth stop on her nationwide "Fight for Reproductive Freedoms" tour.

The White House has yet to announce the specific details of the visit.

This will be the third visit to Minnesota Harris has made since taking office as Vice President.

During last week's State of the Union address, President Joe Biden thanked Harris for embarking on the tour that began in January.

The "Fight for Reproductive Freedoms" tour kicked off in Big Bend, Wisconsin, on Jan. 22 -- the 51st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.

During her Wisconsin speech, Harris blasted Republicans as extremists for trying to ban abortions. She singled out Donald Trump for saying he was "proud" of helping to limit abortions.

Trump nominated three conservative justices to the U.S. Supreme Court during his term in office, paving the way for the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

"Proud that women across our nation are suffering?" Harris said in the January speech. "Proud that women have been robbed of a fundamental freedom? Proud that doctors could be thrown in prison for caring for their patients? That young women today have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers?"

Harris' last visit to Minnesota was a St. Cloud stop in Feb. 2023, where she went to transit bus manufacturer New Flyer of America to talk about electric vehicles and the future of clean energy.

She spoke at a roundtable on reproductive rights in St. Paul in 2022 and later that day spoke at an event for Gov. Tim Walz in Minneapolis.

In January, President Biden visited the Twin Ports to discuss the importance of fixing the John A. Blatnik Memorial Bridge between Superior, Wisconsin and Duluth, Minnesota.
