EAGAN, Minn. — In what can only be described as a breakout season, Vikings middle linebacker Eric Kendricks was named Friday as Minnesota's only member of the 2019 NFL All-Pro Team.

In his fifth season since being drafted out of UCLA, Kendricks started every game but one in the middle of a defense considered one of the league's best, notching 70 solo tackles and assisting on 40 more. He was also instrumental in the Vikings pass defense with 12 passes defended and half a sack.

Before missing the season finale against the Bears with a quad injury, Kendrick lined up for 87-percent of the team's defensive snaps, rare for a middle linebacker in this era of specialization. That number is a testament to his athleticism, and ability to cover tight ends and running backs on passing downs.

A panel of 50 sports writers cast ballots to select the team. Baltimore led the All-Pro Team with five selections. New Orleans had four. There were 16 AFC players and 13 from the NFC.

Vikings who received at least one vote were running back Dalvin Cook, offensive tackle Brian O'Neil, defensive end Danielle Hunter, linebacker Anthony Barr, and safeties Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris.

Here is the complete listing of the NFL's first and second All-Pro teams.
