Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is helped off the field in a game against San Francisco, Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024 in Minneapolis.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson told reporters he's "not seriously injured" after leaving Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers late in the third quarter with a quad injury.

The star receiver was helped off the field by the training staff, and went straight to the medical tent to be evaluated. It's the second straight week the Vikings lost a receiver during the game after Jordan Addison left last week's season opener against the New York Giants with an ankle injury.

After the game, Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell said Jefferson suffered a quad contusion when he was hit by another player's leg.

"It's pretty sore, but he's already up and moving, and we'll just treat that thing and hopefully he'll be day-to-day and we'll see how his status looks for next week," O'Connell said.

Prior to getting injured, the former Offensive Player of the Year was having a massive game, including a 97-yard touchdown in the second quarter to get the fireworks going early. He finished with four catches for 133 yards and surpassed 6,000 receiving yards for his career, tying Lance Alworth for the fewest games (62) to do so.
