EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Minnesota Vikings receiver Jordan Addison left Sunday's game against the New York Giants with an ankle injury early in the third quarter.
The former first-round pick had three catches for 35 yards before heading back to the locker room. Addison didn't return, but Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed it wasn't the same ankle he previously injured back in August while attempting to make a catch during a joint practice with the Cleveland Browns on Aug. 14.
"Jordan made some plays for us early on there, and then to lose him kind of effected a little bit of the flow there in the second half," O'Connell said. "But hopefully it'll be a shorter term thing."
The Vikings were still able to cruise to a 28-6 victory over the Giants despite playing most of the second half without Addison. Newly acquired quarterback Sam Darnold completed his first 12 pass attempts on his way to his first victory in the Vikings jersey.
Darnold finished 19 of 24 for 208 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
"Playing with confidence, I think that's going to be the biggest thing," Darnold said. "We've got a great offense, a great system. If I just play on time and do all the things I need to execute, we'll be alright."
